Speaker(s)
Description
Digital identity has the potential to positively transform citizen engagement and access to government services in the digital age. However, ensuring broad availability and acceptance of government supported digital identity is an uncertain endeavor that requires careful planning.
This session will explore various approaches government has used to deploy digital identity at scale and share key lessons learned as well as pitfalls to avoid particularly in a post-COVID world.
Hear from government and industry experts on the merits and drawbacks of various digital identity deployment models such as building it agency-by-agency, leveraging commercially-issued identity, or federating an existing government digital credential. Finally, hear how key regulations and guidelines such as NIST SP 800-63-3, Know Your Customer (KYC), and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) should factor into a deployment.
